Stupid $#@%&#* Budget

I put myself on a strict budget. My car is a 1996 and very soon I will need to replace it. By the time the car dealers are trying to unload the 2006 models-September/October, right?-I want to be able to buy one with a really hefty down payment. So I have to be a good girl and stop spending. It's making me cranky.

Very cranky. I'm used to buying whatever I want, whenever I want. I am spoiled. I have spoiled myself. I am my own worst enemy. *sigh*

So, who else is sharing my pain? Anyone else on a tight budget? Are you saving for something specific, or just trying to get debt free? Any tips? Hints? Are there any websites out there to help? Easy websites. I have tried to do Microsoft Money before but seriously it felt like I was balancing my checkbook twice a month. I gave it a shot, but gradually stopped because to me it was a major hassle. I think the last time I opened the software was two years ago, if not longer.

Share my pain, people. Give me inspiration. Budgeters of Blogland, unite!

Just wondering ...

1. Do you have a nickname?

2. What is your favorite breakfast food?

3. Who was your favorite teacher?

4. Roller coasters or Ferris wheels?

5. Are you one of those weirdos who eats squash?

6. Are you one of those weirdos who eats poutine?

7. Do you remember your dreams?

8. If you could re-do any moment in your life, what would it be?

9. Should I marry Keith Urban or George Clooney?

10. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Tell me something ....

Anything. Tell me something about yourself that you haven't shared before.

I'll go first.

I have a two inch scar on the right side of my neck from a biopsy I had in 2003. My doctor thought I had lymphoma so I had a lymph node taken out. Thankfully I didn't have cancer and it was just some infection.

Confession: I like the scar. I see it everytime I look in the mirror and it reminds me that life is short and "there but for the grace of God go I". I try not to take things for granted and my scar reminds that nothing is guaranteed. I could have easily come out surgery that day with the diagnosis of cancer. I'm glad I didn't, but I remind myself that people get that news everyday and I am lucky to be healthy and cancer free.

Now you...

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The mean nasty cold front blew in yesterday afternoon, complete with driving rain and blustery, brutal winds. The rain stopped by early evening, but the winds continued and around 11pm last night we lost electricity. It did not come back on until about 4pm this afternoon (I think I had a typo in Monsty's blog and said "7pm", but it was 4pm). That is 18 hours without heat in January in the mid-Atlantic. The low last night was 25 degrees (that's Farenheit for all you Celsius people). I have no idea what the wind chill was, but from the sound of the wind it was probably -500 degrees. The high today was 38, but that is without the freakin' wind chill (which was probably -450 degrees -- the sun *was* out afterall).

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I think I have finally thawed out.

Yes, I'm a cold weather wimp. I hate being cold. The only time I don't mind winter is when it has snowed and it's pretty and everything looks like a winter wonderland. But I'm over that after about 3 hours, even less if I have to clear my car and scrape the windshield.

I'll take 95 degrees in July over this any day.

There is no "Monsty"

Has anyone met Monsty? Nope. No one. There has not been one published report of a Monsty sighting. Not one eyewitness account of an actual, honest-to-Cod meeting. Nothing. Personally? I do not think there *is* a Monsty. At least not the Monsty "she" says she is.

I do not think she is really a she.

I think "she" is a "he". A "he" who is a 14 year old chess club belongin', retainer wearin', Star Wars lovin' (sorry Catt), trombone playin' high school student. Monsty probably has posters of Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton in his room. I bet Monsty plays rousing games of Dungeons & Dragons with his fellow 14 year old chess club belongin', retainer wearin', Star Wars lovin' (sorry again Catt), trombone playin' high school friends.

I think Nookie is going to be in for the surprise of her life when some kid straight out of Malcolm in the Middle meets her for lunch next month.

Confession time

I keep going to the RTVW front page because I LOVE that picture of Ryan Seacrest. I love Ryan Seacrest. Love him! He is my boy toy celebrity boyfriend. I cannot wait for him to start his job on E! News Live. Cannot wait!

For those of you keeping track, I have 4 celebrity boyfriends...my country music star BF, my rock star BF, my movie star BF, and Ryan, my boy toy celebrity BF.

I will be very sad when the picture changes. Hopefully it won't be some schmuck like Donald Trump or Janice Dickinson. *shudder*

So, what would you like to confess?

Gather round folks, and show your love for our furry green one. She murderated her blog yesterday and needs some tender loving care. Help Monsty get over the anguish of her dearly departed blog.

So tell me! Why do you love the Monsty?

I love the Monsty because she makes me laugh like no other. AND! She sent me cookies!!!

AND! I would love her even more if she sent me MORE cookies.

*hopeful look*
