A few pictures

This summer was not one of my better ones for gardening. It has been hot, dry, and deer infested. I'll head to Home Depot today to get the fall plants -- mums, asters, sedums, etc. Before I start making changes I took a few pictures of what has survived. Thank the gardening Gods for hardy plants like petunias, vincas, stock, etc. If it weren't for them I'd have nothing to show.

Purple and white petunias, red stock, lavender:
Purple Angelonia and red stock:
This is a mixture of three different containers by the front door. White geraniums, hot pink petunias, pink and yellow lantana, and cute little blue flowers (cannot remember the name): Orange and yellow lantana:
Hostas eaten by the hungry deer. Notice they didn't touch the liriope right next to them. Guess the hostas must be extra tasty.
Impatiens -- these are in a fairly shady part of the yard. They cannot take constant summer sun without tons of water. Wilted impatiens are a sorry sad sight.
