Thank you, America!

Thank you Senator Obama, for giving me real hope. Real hope. After 8 years I finally and truly have hope for our nation and our future.

Thank you Senator McCain, for your dedicated service to our country, and to your gracious, healing and sincere concession speech.

A few notes...

I was stunned at how soon they called Pennsylvania for Obama.

I was amazed that Virginia turned blue.

I am thrilled that my friend Lydia was able to get Florida back to blue (with a little help from her fellow Floridians).

I was not surprised at the celebration in Grant Park, and am jealous I wasn't there.

I am super duper tired, and now, at 5:30am ET, I must get ready for work.

SO HAPPY!!!!!

Grant Park looked beautiful and spectacular. I was proud.

Even more proud this morning when I listened through two cycles of local news coverage of the rally and didn't hear one single report of any violence or disturbance. Even on happy occasions there seems to always be some faction of people who make a mess of things. This time, I wanted so badly for my city to make me proud and they did, indeed.

Um. If you decide to ban me, I'll cut you. I'll cut you REAL bad.

(I am bored today. Can you tell?)

Hi Boo! *hugs back* I know you are disappointed, but I really do think you will come to be proud of our new President.

Frodis! I LOVE Chicago, and I knew it would represent well. :-)

Monsty, you need to cut back on the caffeine, sweetie.
