Bamboo wrangler?
For the second time in a month I just watched a kid (late teens maybe?) run past the house with stalks of bamboo. Most homeowners do not care for bamboo because it is quite insidious and will overtake a yard in no time.
People plant it as a border but usually live to regret that. Bamboo is fast growing and the roots travel underground, it gets quite tall and usually falls over in the first big rain/wind/snow storm. Other than food for pandas I'm not sure what bamboo is good for (and I'm adding this parenthetical because I don't want to end my sentence with a preposition).
So, why is this kid running down the road with 10 foot stalks of bamboo? You think he has a panda he needs to feed? If so, wonder what he named the Panda?
Such is the strange things one sees when looking out a window on a Sunday morning.

Maybe he is running a Chinese torture chamber and he needs the bamboo for the purpose of shoving it up people's nail beds.
Maybe he originally had beans that grew to the sky and he has the bamboo to give to the giant to use as a straw.
Maybe he's making fishing poles.
Or starting a bamboo band in his garage.
Maybe he's just trying to bamboozle you.
Do you think he is building a cage for Gus?
A friend has some growing on her land. It makes a great marshmallow/hot dog roasting stick. And she made a landscape border with cuttings of it.
He, I think, is manufacturing toothpicks.
He's selling it to the local S&M store.
We just discovered bamboo growing on our land.
At least it isn't Kudzu. *shudder* That stuff freaks me out.

He is flooring his parents' house. Bamboo is hot flooring material. Everybody on HGTV uses it.
People are more likely to run by my house with icicles than with bamboo.
maybe he was making candle holders.

He is obviously going to feed some pandas.
Maybe he's using it as a javelin pole and your sidewalk is his approach lane.
