Magnificent magnolias

Magnolias are lovely when they are in bloom...

...but I really think the magic of magnolias occurs in the fall when the seeds emerge from the pods.

Yay!!!! Magnolias. My favorite. *big grin*

I'm so happy. Michelle has been working with the city landscaper about having some dead trees removed and then replacing them with new trees. She was thinking of me when she was working with the city guy because last week we had 3 new magnolia trees planted right outside of our front door. Yippee.

Oo! Pretty! I have never seen magnolias in that phase of flowering. In MN our choices of magnolia are very slim - and none of them so that!

We have some beautiful magnolia trees outside our office.

Those are beautiful pics Augie!

Carey, Michelle didn't get rid of the Charlie Brown daisy tree did she? *stern look*

Augie - if you send me Magnolia seeds, how many years will it take for a decent sized tree? Better yet send us all some seeds and the first tree to hit 3 feet has to throw a Magnolia party!

Ok Augie,

I want your secret.

Here it is, Thursday, Oct. 5. Yet somehow, you've morphed four days ahead of the rest of us. Your blog is reading that it is Monday, Oct. 9.

Are you really from the future? I've always thought so.

Oh, and very purty magnolias you have there.

LOL! Meemo...I didn't realize I was posting in a time warp. :-)

I just fixed it, so I should be back in the correct space/time continum with the rest of you non-time travelers. :-)

The only thing I can think of is I had changed the date when I first posted it and was apparently confused. Which is nothing new, by the way.

Lasann...magnolias grow pretty slowly so I would imagine it would take a long time to get a tree that would bloom. However, I'll be more than happy to send you a bunch of seed pods. Let me know if you really want some.

You can buy mini magnolia trees. That's what was just planted outside. They come to you at about 6ft tall already. No clue about cost though.

I think Augie owns a seekrit fulx capacitor which she stole from the gubmint! ;-)

Oh Augie... how will we ever make it through winter without your purty flowers? Will you post pictures of dead trees and shrubs for us? *grin*
