Kimmie Meissner!

16 year old ice skating sensation. Born, raised, and lives about 10 miles from me. Our own little Marylander in the winter Olympics! From all accounts she is a lovely teenager who is polite, nice, caring, and humble. She lost one of her best friends to cancer two years ago. She is adored by her family and adores them in return.

Bode Miller? Can kiss my ass. If I had kids I would want them to look up to the Kimmie Meissners of the world, not the Bode Millers.

Lord, I hope she skates her little heart out tonight.

Go Kimmie! You done us proud no matter who is on the medal stand tonight.

No Survivor for me tonight--I don't want to miss a moment of the long program! I hope Kimmie skates fantastically--she is sure a talented skater and a real sweetheart.

In spite of that--I am rooting for Irina Slutskaya (however you spell it) to win gold. She has overcome so much adversity in her life, including all kinds of weird physical ailments that would have side-tracked just about anyone else.

For some reason, I have never been fond of Sasha Cohen. I hope she does well but I won't feel bad if her medal isn't gold.

Hey Swami! I do hope Irina does well, too. If she wins the gold over Sasha I will be cheering her on and won't feel bad for Sasha one bit. In fact, the blurb they had on the today show this morning (Brian Bointano and Sarah Hughes did a bit about the competion) seems to show that almost everyone thinks the gold is Irina's to lose. Seems that Sasha has a problem with the long program and never has been able to do a back to back perfect short and long program in the same competion.

I am really hoping Kimmie gets a bronze. But I am certain she will be on the medal stand in Vancouver in 2010!

So very excited about tonight's show!

I'll have to root from the sidelines. Watching Survivor and taping AI.
But go Kimmie!!!

Not doing the olympics but it is cool that she lives so close.

Hey Lasann!

Hey Carey!

So, what should I have for dinner?

I had an artichoke and a bowl of Smart Start cereal. I washed it down with Vodka/7-Up and pomegranate juice.

How did she do Augie? I only caught bits and pieces of the skating last night.

I felt bad for Slutskaya. Congrats for Cohen though. Maybe the reason I'm not a huge fan of ladies singles is because the Canadian team is rather weak in that area. *grin*

She came in 6th, Lightsy. She had one booble out of a jump, but did not fall. YAY!

She's as cute as a button and I'm sure you'll be seeing her in Vancouver.

I thought Kimmie did great! (She came in 5th, Lights.)

For figure skaters, these are sure the Fall Olympics, not the Winter Olympics. I have never seen so many falls in every songle discipline. Singles, pairs, dance, men, women - all fall down.

LOL! Fall Olympics!

I'll be watching for her Augie and I'll think of you when I see her.

Bode Miller is an ass! ...and so is Chad Hedrick!

Kimmie was adorable, as was Emily Hughes. I never really liked Sasha.

Oh! ...and the Japanese girl was great! She deserved the gold. Irina was my sentimental favorite.

The American skaters had the nicest costumes. The other skaters...blech! How about that girl who looked like she was wearing pasties and a diaper?
